A 30 lb bag of granular aquatic algaecide, formulated to control a broad spectrum of algae and submerged aquatic weeds in various water bodies. The product, often associated with Applied Biochemists, contains a 27.9% Copper Ethanolamine Complex, equivalent to 9% metallic copper. Its chelated copper formula is designed to sink rapidly for targeted delivery to bottom-growing algae and aquatic plants like Chara, Nitella, and Hydrilla verticillata, while preventing copper precipitation to ensure extended activity. It functions by disrupting the cellular structure of algae and inhibiting photosynthesis, with visible results typically within 24 to 48 hours. This algaecide is approved for use in lakes, potable water reservoirs, farm and industrial ponds, fish hatcheries, raceways, golf course water hazards, and irrigation systems. When used as directed, treated water can be used immediately for swimming, fishing, livestock watering, and irrigation; however, it should not be used in ponds with Koi or hybrid goldfish, or in water containing trout if carbonate hardness is below 50 ppm.
