The Spears Manufacturing Co. 4197-010 is a 1-inch Copper Tube Size (CTS) CPVC Union designed for joining sections of Chlorinated Polyvinyl Chloride (CPVC) pipe. It features socket ends for solvent welding connections, facilitating easy installation. The union incorporates an EPDM (Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer) O-ring for a secure, leak-proof seal, and its three-part design allows for convenient disassembly and reassembly without cutting the pipe, aiding in maintenance and repairs. Constructed from CPVC, it offers resistance to corrosion, chemicals, and high temperatures, making it suitable for hot and cold potable water distribution systems and industrial applications. This fitting has a continuous working pressure rating of 100 psi at 180°F (82°C) and up to 400 psi at 73°F (23°C). It meets ASTM D-1784/D-2846 specifications and is NSF certified for lead-free potable water use, complying with NSF® Standard 14 and NSF® Standard 61. The fitting has an approximate overall length of 2-13/32 inches and an diameter of 1-1/2 inches.
