This is a 1-1/4 inch Schedule 40 PVC slip x slip deep socket coupling manufactured by Spears Manufacturing Company, part number 479-012. Designed for solvent welding, this molded PVC coupling connects two sections of pipe with an extended socket depth that allows for greater surface area for solvent application, promoting a strong, leak-resistant joint. It is suitable for use in pressure piping systems and is resistant to corrosion and chemicals. PVC can handle fluids at service temperatures up to 140°F (60°C). The fitting is manufactured from compounds that meet ASTM D1784 standards for rigid PVC materials. It is often NSF certified for potable water application
