Product Overview
This Spears Manufacturing Co. TUM-0500 union transition adapter is designed to connect 1/2-inch CPVC piping to components with male iron pipe threads (MIPT). It features a lead-free brass end for the MIPT connection and a spigot end for solvent welding to CPVC pipe, ensuring a secure and compatible joint. An EPDM washer provides a reliable seal. The fitting is engineered to meet or exceed all applicable ASTM and ANSI standards, including ASTM D2846 for chlorinated poly(vinyl chloride) plastic hot and cold water distribution systems. It is rated for 25-50 flame and smoke (when water-filled) and is NSF 14/61 certified, making it suitable for potable water applications in residential and commercial settings. It has a maximum operating temperature of 180°F (82°C) and a maximum operating pressure of 100 psi, conforming to SDR 11 pipe schedule. The manufacturer's code for this product is TUM-00
