Product Overview
The Starborn Cap-Tor XD Decking Screw, model CXD54L10275, is an epoxy-coated carbon steel fastener designed for securing PVC and composite decking, as well as traditional composites. This #10 diameter screw measures 2-3/4 inches in length and features a Warm Gray finish. It incorporates an extra deep T20 Star Drive recess to prevent cam-out and ensure stable installation. The screw's design includes an undercut head that cleanly penetrates the hard outer layer of capstock decking, reverse threads to prevent mushrooming and surface defects, tri-lobular shanks to reduce driving torque, and a Type 17 auger tip for faster insertion and reduced splitting. These screws are approved for use with all major PVC and composite deck brands and are compatible with ACQ pressure-treated lumber. While this specific model features an epoxy-based polymer resin coating, Cap-Tor XD screws are also available in color-matched Headcote stainless steel (Grades 305 and 316).
