Ideal for use in the saltwater marine environment, these stainless steel shocks are constructed of 316 stainless steel and have been specially treated to protect against rust and corrosion. The gas cylinders of shocks installed on new boats typically have a life of about five years. Taylor Made s new line of gas shocks is intended to replace the installed rods once the viability of the gas cylinders on the original shocks has expired. The rated capacity of these shocks refers to the pounds of force exerted when the gas spring is in its fully open or extended position.
