The Tytan International HB8500 is an 8-strand hollow braid polypropylene utility rope, measuring 1/4 inch (6.35 mm) in diameter and 50 feet in length. This lightweight and economical cord features a diamond braid construction with a hollow core, making it easy to handle and splice. Made from polypropylene, the rope floats in water and exhibits strong resistance to rot, mildew, and most chemicals, including acids, alkalis, oils, and solvents. It also offers good abrasion resistance and retains its softness even when wet. While generally durable for outdoor use, polypropylene is susceptible to weakening and increased stretch with prolonged exposure to direct UV radiation. It is suitable for camping, general purpose tie-down applications, marine use such as buoys and floating lines, and light duty pulling. The approximate tensile strength for this 1/4 inch rope is 1,000 lbs.
