The Tytan PP14600YD is a 3-strand twisted polypropylene rope, 1/4 inch in diameter and 600 feet in length, presented in a yellow color. Constructed from polypropylene fibers, this rope is lightweight, offers a good strength-to-weight ratio, and floats in water due to its low density. It is rot-proof and highly resistant to mildew, oils, gasoline, water, and most acids and chemicals. The rope also exhibits good dielectric properties, providing electrical insulation. While economical and suitable for general-purpose applications, it has less desirable knot retention characteristics, with knots potentially reducing its tensile strength by 40-60%. Its tensile strength is rated at 1490 lbs. Prolonged outdoor exposure can lead to moderate UV degradation of the fibers.
