Product Overview
The USP Structural Connectors KCBQ66 is a high-capacity column base connector engineered to anchor 6x6 inch wood posts to concrete foundations or other structural elements. Constructed from 7 gauge G90 galvanized steel, it provides robust resistance against uplift forces in high wind and seismic applications. The connector measures 5-1/2 inches (W1) by 5-1/2 inches (W2) by 8-5/8 inches (L) and installs with twelve WS2 structural wood screws, which are typically 1/4 inch diameter by 2 inches long. This installation method offers a lower profile than traditional bolts and helps maintain the cross-section integrity of the post. The KCBQ66 complies with various building codes, including SBCCI, BOCA - NER 532, ICBO 2725, FL819, L.A. City RR 25104, IRC R407.3, and IBC 2304.10.7. It is not recommended for unrestrained applications like fence posts that are not fixed at the top. This product is supplied in a carton containing 6 units.
