Product Overview
This MiTek USP Structural Connectors PAF44-TZ PAF Series post anchor is designed to securely fasten 4x4 nominal wood posts (actual 3.5" x 3.5") to concrete footings. Constructed from 14-gauge steel with a G185 Triple Zinc galvanized finish, it provides enhanced corrosion resistance, suitable for use with ACQ pressure-treated lumber. The one-piece design incorporates a 1" standoff plate, elevating the wood post above the concrete surface to prevent moisture damage and rot as required by building codes. Installation typically involves a 1/2" or 5/8" diameter anchor bolt with a minimum 4" embedment into 2,500 psi concrete, and 10d or 16d nails to secure the post, with fasteners, washers, and nuts supplied separately. This connector is evaluated under ESR-3449, FL17239, and LABC standards. It is not recommended for fence posts or other unrestrained applications requiring resistance to overturning loads.
