Product Overview
The USP Structural Connectors PAU44 Post Anchor Base is designed to secure nominal 4x4 wood posts to concrete footings. Part of the PAU series, this structural connector is engineered for higher uplift resistance and features a 1-inch standoff plate to elevate wood posts, providing protection against moisture damage and complying with building codes. It is constructed from 16-gauge steel with a G90 galvanized finish for corrosion resistance. The anchor measures 3-9/16 inches wide, 5-7/16 inches high, and 3 inches long. Fastening requires one 5/8-inch anchor bolt, twelve 16d nails, and two 1/2-inch bolts, which are sold separately. Anchor bolts require a minimum 4-inch embedment into at least 2,500 psi concrete. This post anchor is not intended for fence posts or applications subject to overturning (moment) loads.
