This anode rod is for residential water heaters. It is made of magnesium. Its 6 in. long nipple is made for newer tanks that have extra thick top insulation. Its flexible design makes it easy to install. It can be installed where there is no more than 13 in. of clearance. Regular checking and changing of the anode rod can significantly extend the life of the steel tank.
