This anode rod is for residential water heaters. It is made of magnesium. It's MIP x FIP thread design allows for installation where a top mount T & P valve is installed. The T & P re-installs into the FIP thread of the anode rod. Its flexible design makes it easy to install. It can be installed where there is no more than 13 in. of clearance. Regular checking and changing of the anode rod can significantly extend the life of the steel tank.
