This anode rod is for residential water heaters. It is made of aluminum and zinc. This anode is ideal for stinky hot water and also for residences with water softeners. Water softeners can cause rapid deterioration of a standard anode rod. Its flexible design makes it easy to install. It can be installed where there is no more than 13 in. of clearance. Regular checking and changing of the anode rod can significantly extend the life of the steel tank.
