Wilton’s History

The story of Wilton originated in 1929, rooted in one man's fervor and talent for creating confectionery art. Dewey McKinley Wilton embarked on his journey as a candymaker in 1912 and later became a true connoisseur in the field. In the 1920s, he ventured across the globe, sharing his expertise in pulled sugar artistry with Europe's great pastry chefs, who, in turn, imparted him with the timeless traditions of the decorating craft. Over time, Mr. Wilton developed his own methodology, known as the Wilton Method, blending the finest aspects of European artistry, both past and present, with the American pursuit of excellence and simplicity. Under the guidance of Dewey McKinley and Norman Wilton, the company evolved further and expanded its offerings to include cake decorating products.
