The roots of Zareba Systems can be traced back to its precursor company, Northern Signal Company of Milwaukee, WI. Under the leadership of Ewing Nunn and Frank Schneider, this pioneering enterprise played a pivotal role in the nascent stages of the U.S. electric fencing industry. It introduced well-known brands such as Northern Signal, Electro-Line, and Blitzer for fence controllers. The company's humble beginnings saw it operating from Mr. Schneider's basement. Faced with limited interest from established fence manufacturers in their products, Nunn and Schneider took it upon themselves to distribute the fence controllers. Ultimately, they found a distributor in Whitewater, WI, marking a significant milestone.
