The SOSS 218 Series Invisible Hinge, model 218US26D, is a concealed hinge designed for wood or metal doors requiring a minimum thickness of 1-3/4 inches. Constructed from high-strength plated steel and heavy-duty zinc alloy castings with nylon links, this hinge measures 4-5/8 inches in height. When closed, it is fully hidden within the door and frame, providing a seamless appearance. The hinge allows for a full 180-degree opening and features a non-removable riveted hinge pin to prevent tampering. It is non-handed, suitable for both left and right-hand door applications. This heavy-duty hinge carries a 20-minute UL fire rating for use on hollow metal, sheet metal, tin-clad, steel composite, or wood core swinging fire doors and frames. It meets ANSI/BHMA A156.1-2006 standards and comes in a Satin Chrome (US26D) finish. Installation typically involves a full mortise application with included wood and machine screws.
