This Brass hinge from the Preston Series mounts shower doors between two glass panels for residential bath and commercial hotel use. It features a 180 Degree Hinge Angle and Glass To Glass Mounting Type. It supports monolithic tempered glass thicknesses from 3/8" to 1/2" (10mm to 12mm). Use one thick gasket per side for 3/8" glass, or one thin gasket per side for 1/2" glass. Door preparation requires a cutout. The hinge closes with a Self-Centering Within 15 Degree of Closed Position and has a Standard Closing Position. Maximum door weight is 80 lbs with 2 hinges or 120 lbs with 3 hinges. Maximum door width is 28" with 2 hinges or 32" with 3 hinges. The overall height is 3-1/2", and both sidelite and door side hinge widths measure 2-3/16". The profile is Beveled. The pivot pin is factory set at 90 degrees, with a secondary setting allowing field adjustment for an additional 5 degrees of closing for positive positioning against a jamb or seal. Supports approximately 5 lb with 3/8" glass and 6.4 lb with 1/2" glass, allowing proper load distribution based on the installed glass thickness. Included items are the hinge, glazing gaskets, hex head screws, crosshead head cover plate screws, and a fabrication template for standard 3/16" glass-to-glass clearance. Installation requires tightening clamping screws by hand only, do not use power tools. Re-tighten screws after 10 minutes to account for gasket compression, and tighten one final time, recommended torque is 45 lb-in per screw. If squeaking occurs, add a few drops of multi-purpose oil at the nylon washer/pivot, avoid spray lubricants. This hinge is presented in an Oil Rubbed Bronze finish. For cleaning, wipe dry daily and use a soft damp cloth with mild liquid cleaner.
