Product Overview
The Raco 939 Retro-Brace is a steel electrical box designed for the secure mounting of ceiling fans and heavy light fixtures. This remodeling kit is primarily intended for old work applications, allowing installation into existing ceilings between joists with spacing from 16 to 24 inches. Constructed from pre-galvanized steel, the round box measures 4 inches in diameter and 1-1/2 inches deep. It features two 1/2 inch knockouts for wiring. The box is UL Listed (cULus Listed, UL 514A, CSA C22.2) and supports ceiling fans weighing up to 70 lbs and light fixtures up to 110 lbs, with capacity varying based on joist spacing.
