This Westinghouse 12 in. Extension Downrod provides the proper height for your ceiling fan to maximize its cooling benefits. Ideal for rooms with 9 ft. ceilings, it features tapered threaded ends for a more stable connection and a brushed nickel finish that complements existing ceiling fans.The extension downrod measures 12 in. long x 3/4 in. ID, and can be used with Westinghouse or other ceiling fans that require a 3/4 in. ID ceiling fan extension downrod.For optimum performance and safety, ceiling fan blades should be at least 7 ft. from the floor but no higher than 8 to 9 ft. in order to best cool a room. For ceilings 9 ft. and higher, an extension downrod is required to bring the ceiling fan down to the proper height above the floor. Product reference number 77526.
