CRL Trade Mate Paintable Silicone Sealant is a high-performance, water clean-up sealant designed for the professional contractor. Unlike conventional water-based caulks, CRL Trade Mate Paintable can withstand joint movement of ±25 percent when properly applied. It will not crack and remains flexible for years. CRL Trade Mate Paintable is recommended whenever paintability is a concern. Most major brands of paint adhere to the surface of this sealant. Evaluate and test in an inconspicuous place before using. CRL Trade Mate Paintable may be painted with oil or water-based paint once a firm skin has formed on the sealant (typically after 30 minutes). If painting does not occur within 48 hours, recoat the joint with a film of fresh sealant. Because of the high movement capability of CRL Trade Mate Paintable Silicone Sealant, loss of paint adhesion to the sealant can occur if joint movement exceeds the movement capability of the paint. It can be used for most common weathering applications where water clean-up and low-odor cure are desired. Typical applications include sealing around window frames, doors and roof penetrations: sealing eaves, troughs, gutter and vents; sealing around pipes, cables and plumbing fixtures; for use on tubs, sinks, showers, painted surfaces and common siding materials. Apply sealant at temperatures between 35 and 90 degrees Fahrenheit (2 and 32 degrees Celsius) and when no rain or high humidity is expected within 24 hours of application for best results. Cured sealant will perform at cold temperatures down to -40 DegreeF (-40 DegreeC) or at high temperatures up to 200 DegreeF (93 DegreeC). Technical Data: Meets the requirements of ASTM C920 Type S, Grade NS, Class 25, Use NT, and G, with the exception of weight loss after heat aging.
Do not freeze. Store between 35 and 90 degrees Fahrenheit (2 and 32 degrees Celsius). Not for stuctural glazing. Not suited for prolonged submersion in water or below-grade applications. Not for aquarium use (product contains a fungicide). May tarnish alloys containing brass, copper or zinc. Check cartridge label and Specification Data Sheet for additional limitations.
