A Look Into Cable Display Systems
If you're looking to construct cable display systems, the CRL range is a good place to begin. You can choose from a variety of hardware to meet the requirements of your glass display.
Cable kit for 3/8'' to 1/2'' glass
This cable kit is fabricated from high-quality 316 stainless steel. It is designed for both indoor and outdoor uses, and versatile enough for any project design. The Y0003CR cable kit consists of :
- One 15' length stainless steel cable with top swivel fitting
- One bottom anchor
- Two cover disks
The kit is intended for heavy glass shelves, and works well for horizontal and vertical cable display systems.
Vertical panel connector
Made from 316 stainless steel, the Y032CR vertical panel connector is designed to hold 3/8'' to ½'' panels in a vertical position. The connectors clamp onto the sides of the panel, and are held in place with nylon-tipped set screws. They come with a weight capacity of 35 pounds. A good option for vertical cable display systems.
Dual threaded screw and stud
The CRL Y0310 dual threaded screw is used at the time of installing the 1/2'' cable kit into wood on the floor or ceiling. Half of the screw is M6 thread, while the other half is wood thread. The threaded stud is used to install a 1/2'' cable kit to metal. The M6 thread size has a 60mm long stud, half of which is threaded into the metal ceiling or floor metal support, while the other half is connected through the cover disks to the cable end fittings.
Other choices in cable system hardware
- Horizontal shelf connector for 1/2'' glass single shelf installations. It can be securely positioned on 4mm cable by tightening the set screw against the cable. The connector comes with a nylon tipped screw to hold the glass firmly in place.
- Concrete anchor to install 1/2'' cable system into concrete. It can be installed by drilling a ¼'' diameter hole 2'' inch deep into the concrete. Tap the top of the anchor with a hammer to fasten the anchor securely into the concrete.
- Drill-thru connector for vertical panels are designed to hang 3/8'' to 1/2'' glass panels in a high-moisture environment where a better alternative to clamping onto the edges of glass is required.
- If you're looking for a rod display system, check CRL 6mm rods with threaded external and internal ends that screw together to achieve the required length. They can also be cut to the exact height as needed, and attached to the ceiling and floor or the top and bottom of a showcase.
