What is the load carrying capacity of your 1in x 1in x 8ft aluminum square tube? I'm looking at anchoring the tube at each end, but it would be unsupported in the middle.

Here are some general considerations: - Material Strength: Aluminum alloys have tensile strengths ranging from 10,000 psi to 75,000 psi, depending on the grade. - Wall Thickness Impact: A 1/16-inch wall thickness is relatively thin, meaning it may flex significantly under load. - Span & Deflection: An 8-foot span with no middle support will be prone to deflection, especially under concentrated loads. To get an accurate load-bearing capacity, you may need to calculate the moment of inertia and use Euler’s buckling formula for stability. If you're working on a structural application, consulting an engineer or using a tube load calculator might be the best approach. Let me know if you need help finding more precise specs!
